2517 devotees participated in "Paal Kaavadi" on Aadipoora Mahotsavam, which began in the morning from Sammankodu Sri Kathirvelaiyutha Swamy temple in Bambalapitiya to Sri Mayrapathy Paththirakaali Amman temple in Colombo 06, on Addi Pooram July 28, 2006

Pushparani Selvarajah and her twelve year old daughter Thulshi Harshana Selvarajah. "I made a vow that , if my son passes his exam with good results when my son sat for his ordinary level exam, I will carry "Paal Kaavadi" on "Aadi Pooram".He passed his exam with good results, and now he is studying advanced level, and I am happy. Today I am fulfilling my vow along with my daughter who wanted to carry "Paal Kaavadi as well" says Pushparani Selvarajah


Shereen Fernando (57) from Katunayake sells sweets at the Mayurapathy Paththirakaali Amman temple site. She says that she comes here annually on this special day to sell the sweets.
